Vistakon Ireland is a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. The Limerick facility is the only Vistakon manufacturing site outside the U.S. Globally they are the largest producer of disposable contact lenses, with ACUVUE as the leading product in the market. Watermiser won a contract to work with Vistakon in 2009.
Watermiser was appointed to manufacture and supply two cooling towers for Vistakon’s Limerick site. We also supplied an access platform and an electrics control panel.

GlaxoSmithKline is a global healthcare company whose products are used by millions of people around the world. With its headquarters in the UK, GSK operates in over 115 countries. Watermiser’s relationship with GSK goes back many years, following a recommendation by a water treatment contractor.
Watermiser won a bid to supply and install new eliminators and air inlet louvers, including housings, to an existing large timber induced draught cooling towers at GSK’s Montrose plant. Manufacturing all materials required, we also carried out onsite fabrication of new galvanised steel support frames.

Baxter is a global medical products and services company. With headquarters in America, Baxter Healthcare has enjoyed a UK presence for over 50 years. Watermiser won its first tender with the company in 2011.
Watermiser was awarded the contract to design, manufacture and supply two new cooling towers at Baxter Healthcare’s manufacturing plant in Liverpool. These towers were required to deal with high temperature incoming water, and so each was fitted with polypropylene headers and spray tubes to deal with this problem.

BASF is the world’s leading chemical company. With headquarters in Germany, BASF has over 100,000 employees and 370 production sites worldwide. Following a merger in 2008, BASF took over Ciba Speciality Chemicals, a Swiss based chemical company with whom Watermiser worked for many years, supplying cooling towers and spares. Watermiser continues to work with the company, primarily at its site in Paisley.
Watermiser was appointed to supply and install a new cooling tower based on calculated duty at Ciba’s Paisley site. Offering unity with the existing towers, the new tower required low noise application, level switches and a vibration protection switch.
